XAimer offers automatic layouts!

Okay, XAimer has just increased the features to its latest version (or I missed them before). Now you can play back different layouts on a table.

Why would anyone want to do this? Imagine sinking EVERY BALL in a single shot and making triple combo-shots to show off. Here's a few samples:

XAimer 4.0 Released

I've just had an opportunity to play around with XAimer's latest pool aimer, XAimer 4.0.

I only have one word... WOW!!!

This latest version allows you to choose from several new guide images, each of which have their own ANIMATION! When I first saw the video of this, I thought it was a faked video, but an update to the latest version proved me wrong. This really helps you see the projected guides and keeps them separate from Yahoo's balls.

The guides also seem to be smaller and more precise than previous versions. An ultra-small guide is also available, for those with tiny eyes and super-precise aiming goals.

As expected, the aiming has been dramatically improved. I tried to throw in a few gotchas, but XAimer handled them all flawlessly. If you don't know what I mean, try to change your system-clock to Halloween and play Yahoo Pool... you'll get to play with a pumpkin.

Cheat Badger Problems...

Cheat Badger seems to be pretty good for High Stakes Pool, but the Yahoo aimer does not seem to be of very high quality.

The aiming for Cheat Badger is inconsistent and less precise than either superior Yahoo Pool Aimers like XAimer or Pool Station.

XAimer Cracks...

I don't personally ever use cracks or warez, mostly because those places are filled with viruses and trojans. But for those who do, a bit of a warning...

I have learned any attempt to change or alter XAimer (the strategy used to crack a program) will make it aim horribly or randomly change its behavior. This makes cracking XAimer particularly annoying because you never know if a crack is working or if XAimer is intentionally aiming poorly for you.

In fact, I've been able to confirm every crack available causes the program to aim randomly in different directions in less than 1 week. Most cracks cause XAimer to be unusable immediately.

It seems the only certain way to know the aiming is perfect is to use the official version of the Yahoo Pool auto aimer.

XAimer Auto Aimer

Update: We now recommend YAimer as the best Yahoo Pool Aimer. YAimer is a new client for Yahoo Pool that beats all other aimers, including XAimer!

XAimer was created in response to Pool Station, promising to be a superior pool aimer. Judging by its popularity and it's high ranking in comparative reviews, XAimer looks to have acheived its goal, as perhaps the best and most advanced auto aimer available for Yahoo Pool.

XAimer aims slightly differently than Pool Station and is able to show when the ball will bounce off the edge or fall into a pocket. While this may seem more precise than Pool Station, sometimes the simpler Pool Station can be more reliable on some close shots.

XAimer auto-updates to adjust to changes on Yahoo (this happens at least once a month) and seems to be the most reliable and fastest in this regard. Typically, updates are even faster than Pool Station.

XAimer shares all of the features Pool Station offers.

Pool Station

One of the first pool aimers to be released, Pool Station has been a reliable program for a number of years. Pool Station introduced the "shot preview" window, combo-shot calculations, auto-updating engines, and graphical guide images. All of these features are standard in most aimers today.

Pool Station is provided by Station Software, a small development company that seems to have a handful of game utilities.

Some features included with Pool Station:
  • Auto Calibrating
  • Can draw up to 10 banks
  • Watches multiple games
  • Adapts to Yahoo changes
  • Auto-updated engines

Cheat Badger

Cheat Badger is a cheat utility for a few dozen different games, including a Pool Aimer for Yahoo Pool.

Perhaps because Cheat Badger's core competency is not Yahoo Pool, it is not as precise as XAimer or Pool Station.

Cheat Badger does offer a few graphical enhancements and nicer user interface than the other aimers, but its aiming is not the best. It works, but isn't great. It does not calculate pocket-banking and is rarely updated for precise changes in Yahoo. The aimer seems to compensate reasonably well to all of Yahoo's changes even without updates.

Important information for Pool Buddy

If you decide to purchase Pool Buddy, you must be prepared to pay for it every year. A lot of people have emailed me and complained that I did not mention this when describing their program in the past. Pool Buddy operates on a subscription model and you must pay $30 every 12 months or your program will stop working.

Playbuddy has confirmed this is their policy and explain it is part of the purchase agreement you accept when you buy the program. Do not get upset if you overlook this fact.
